Recent Earthquakes
A simple recent-earthquake tracker using USGS public data.
Use the filters to change what appears, then select a dot or report card to read the details. This page explains public reports; it is not an emergency alert service.
Dot color shows the reported magnitude range. Pulsing dots mark M4.5+ reports.

Regions with recent reports
A quick way to see which regional pages have recent USGS earthquake reports. Counts depend on the selected time range and magnitude filter.
Counts use each region's map frame, so nearby offshore reports may be included. This is for general awareness, not emergency alerts or safety advice.
Reading guide
How to read this tracker
Magnitude
Magnitude describes the reported size at the source. A higher number means much more energy was released.
Depth
Depth shows where the earthquake began below the surface. Read it together with magnitude and distance.
Location
USGS place names can describe a nearby area or offshore zone, not always an exact town.
Time
Times come from USGS data and may show in your browser time. Event details can update after review.
